Details

Weight classes specified at season level

Many users run girls, boys and youth programs, each one operating under a different set of weight classes. Previously, Takedown’s default weight classes were specified in Settings and applied to all Seasons. This change — specifying weight classes at the Season level — makes it easier to run multiple teams in a single Takedown account.

Added new NFHS weight classes and state-specific weight classes

NFHS is adding six new weight classes on 7/1/2023. Those are available in the app now along with state-specific weight classes for Montana, New York, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Ohio.

Match edits persisted to Takedown LIVE

If you edit a match after it’s been saved to the database and that match was published to Takedown LIVE, then those edits will appear in Takedown LIVE. A common situation is revising the opponent name after the match has been saved. Also, a match deleted in Takedown will also be deleted in Takedown LIVE if it exists there.

Added NFHS period durations of 1:00 2:00 2:00 along with the top five most popular period durations

Built-in support for NFHS Rule 6.1.2 period durations of 1:00, 2:00, 2:00 in consolations. We also added the five most popular sets of period durations so that you don’t have to.

Improved on-boarding prevents sign up with incorrect email address

Previously, you could sign up with an incorrect email address. This is a problem if you forget the password since the password reset email is sent to the email address. We fixed this in 3.1 — you’ll need to verify your email address during the sign up process.

Expanded viewport for video recording

Larger, bezel-to-bezel viewport option for video recording makes it easier to keep the wrestling action in the frame.

Improved video playback in Manage Video

Persistent scoring transcript and auto-play after navigating to scoring event makes video review even more efficient. Scoring transcript is narrower and slightly transparent, creating a better viewing experience.

Improved Event creation reduces scheduling errors

We’ve removed certain default values — time and date, for example — to improve event scheduling accuracy.

Support for NCAA Rule 5.1.4

Individual riding clocks can be paused so that Takedown complies with NCAA rule 5.1.4 requiring riding time clock stoppage when the offensive wrestler commits an infraction.

New Feature: Off-Line Publishing to Takedown LIVE

Up until this release, when the Takedown wasn’t Internet-connected then matches intended for publication to Takedown LIVE didn’t appear — the data was simply discarded by Takedown Scoring and Stats. With this release, if you’re not Internet-connected and you’re also publishing matches to Takedown LIVE, Takedown Scoring and Stats will keep the match information and publish it to Takedown LIVE the next time you’re connected to the Internet. The benefit is that you’ll still have all of your matches published on Takedown LIVE even if your internet connection is unreliable.
